Speechless

When this spill first happened, I began updating this blog and my Facebook status with progress reports and spill maps. I soon began updating my Facebook page exclusively and it spurred some great conversations with friends who realized that they were only seeing part of the story covered by the evening news. Now that this story has exploded into the 24-hour news coverage it is due, I am going to resume blogging it here.

I had a friend say to me today "I've been seeing your oil spill related posts on Facebook for the past month and I was thinking to myself 'Is he some kind of flaming Liberal?' but then I remembered that you were a commercial fisherman for many years."

So, it appears that we have become so politicized that reporting on the extent of the spill and BP's efforts to stop it makes me a "flaming Liberal." These are sad times.
